Banned from Google search?

I have a proxy site which dropped off Google in late May.. I was hoping it would return, but it never has. Prior to the drop off, I was getting several keywords visitors from Google, but now I can't even find my site on Google using a keyword like <mydomain>.com..

I submitted this proxy site to over 100 proxy top sites, Digg, several forum signatures, and free link exchanges with high PR sites. Was this too much maybe? I use Google Webmaster Tool, and it shows that I have over 2500 external links, but a search of link:<mydomain>.com returns nothing...

If I am banned from Google search, is there a way to fix it? Anyone that I can contact?

EDIT: Just wanted to add that I can find my site using "site:<mydomain>.com", but not "<mydomain>.com".. This is why I am not sure whether I am banned. I was under the impression that a banned site could not be found with the site: feature.

you can submit a reindex request from your webmaster tool but you must find why you have been banned .

How do I find out why I've been banned?

This is rather depressing... I'm almost to the point of buying a new domain, and redirecting the current domain and some of the backlinks to the new one..
