they bury the ads on their episode pages... they use other networks on their main pages... see here for example:

    http://www.sidereel.com/Gossip_Girl/_season/2/_episode/25/_search

the img ad to the right and there are text ads too

At the end of the day your site clearly violates Googles TOS is most likely why you were banned.

That image ad appears to be an affiliate program (I see a Bidz.com ad)

Also, their google ad seems to be a custom ad which means they might be a "premium" user i beleive it is called.

ok, but how does it violate TOS? there is no copyright infringing material on the site.... go to google.com, type in a tv show, get links to tv shows... it does not necessarily mean a copyright violation is occuring. Or does it?

yes you are right, the images ads are not always google (but often they are and say ads by google)

what does it mean to have a premium account - these are the accounts that do very well and google gives them special priveldge? (like an allowance to break TOS?)

one day a police man asked me do you have license ? i said yes then that police man said you must give penalty... huh?

this is what Google is doing with publishers account, they have million reason to ban you ...

please post your traffic details / source.

    I'm a full-time adsenser since 2005.

Tip: How to continue getting your cheques from Google: Stay away from copyright materials. Because
the other are doing it you want to do the same too?

You can't set the rules because Adsense Program belongs to Google. Period.

Well I know that they can customize their ads a bit more. But I'm not sure about TOS.

Your actual site doesn't actually contain copywritten material. You may link to sites that have it, but I don't think that is grounds for punishment.

You need to think outside the box here. What have you done to the site recently that maybe you thought was fine but could be teetering on ethical boundaries.

For example, you said that in just a short amount of time, you started in earning a lot more money. Where was this traffic coming from? What was the CTR like?

Did you purchase traffic at all? Did you click on your ads ever? Did you ever go to a public library, click on your ads and then login to your account to see how much you just made yourself?

not sure i follow, but most traffic was coming from link directories like tvshow-links.com, alluc.org, surfthechannel.com, sidereel.com, etc and about 90% of the other people posting links to those directories also have adsense on their pages

Upon re-reading the copy right section of adsense TOS... i am very confiendt I am not in violation:

    Copyrighted Material
AdSense publishers may not display Google ads on webpages with content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content. Please see our DMCA policy for more information

I do not post ANY content protected by copyright law, at all, ever, I do not think this is why I was banned.

I think a click bomb or something like that since no one here can find any TOS violations on my side other than copywrite (which is false, my site does not have copyright TOS violations, there is no copy righted content on my site)

Is it against adsense TOS to share stats like CTR etc?

I have not paid for traffic, I wouldn't even know where to "buy" traffic... really all of my traffic was coming mainly from sidereel.com & other link directories like alluc.org, surfthechannel, etc.

I have never clicked my own ads from home or otherwise, and even have told my wife to be careful about this in case I ever leave my site up on the computer while not sitting at it.

I do have a 2 year old son who could have potentially clicked ads, but it is extremely unlikely that I happened to leave one of my sites up AND my son happened to get over to the computer and click an ad - it's possible but very unlikely and would be so one-off that I can't imagine google would care.

Nothing to argue, the fact is you get banned. You agree on the google term and condition before you can join adsense. Do you noticed the below term?

Your site violates google TOS period
Watch Tv shows online type sites are violation of google TOS
i have seen many many sites like this banned by google

Now coming to sidereel and other very popular sites...
There was a big debate over this some times ago ... Google is evil .. it has given sidereel premium status but clearly sites like that are against TOS of google ... But what to do ...?
You cant argue with them that if they are allowed .. why cant I ..?

And never ever even dream of comparing your site to biggies like surfthechannel and sidereel...
They receive millions of hits each day and they are a huge publisher to adsense and accordingly google has made some exceptions in their case

And it is a waste of time to appeal for adsense .... as i have seen sites like this will not survive in adsense for a longer time

!!! I just thought of another possibility!

I work for Microsoft and have checked in on my adsense account from their network many times.

Could it be that someone else who works at Microsoft and maybe had an adsense account that was banned - is it possible that since I might have the same IP as someone with a banned account who checked their account from work - that they would associate me with the banned account?

I dont know for sure that there is anyone else at MS with an adsense account or a banned adsense account, but it seems possible. And we all share the same IP address.

    Any thoughts?

I am saying na .. watch tv shows or movies online type sites are not allowed in adsense... its against their TOS
One has to be extremely lucky to escape from their radar having these sites ...
there is no other reason apart from that ...

adithya, please read the google adsense TOS.. i am not in violation of it in any way (that i know of). My site does not violate their content or copyright portions of the TOS. There are no movies or tv shows on my pages.

    Thanks

Without knowing the cause of ban, whatever you do again and expect a ban again. So, better the reason and avoid the mistakes in future.

Yes I realize that portion but it is not relevant to this conversation, I am trying to find out why in this specfic reason (not "just because")
