I've been wanting to ask this for AGES... especially as I see more and more posts about people getting banned from AdSense. Here is my question for those of you that were banned from AdSense: How many of you had been running the site that got you banned for more than 1 year AND were constantly making about the same amount (+/- 20%) during the prior months of the year compared to the month in which you got banned? The reason I ask: I don't think I've ever seen anybody that falls into this group (long term publishers with consistent track records) that have been banned. It seems that most of the stories I read are either brand new signups and/or huge spikes in revenue generation that is a statistical outlier compared to the previous months.
I think you're spot on! Even further, I have never witnessed anybody getting banned from Adsense without having broken any rules - either knowingly or not knowingly - what I have seen though is people who fall into the second category getting their accouts reinstated after sending an explanation letter. Seriously, 99.99% of the people complaining about "having been banned for no reason" have either intendedly broken the rules (and deserve the ban) or are newbies who simply haven't familiarized themselves with the rules (also deserve the ban but actually have a chance of getting reinstated). The bottom line is that Google is a corporation that wants to make money - and the more publishers they have, the more money they make. It wouldn't make any business sense banning people for no reason. People get banned from Adsense if they do something wrong enough that Google can be afraid of an advertiser noticing it and complaining.
Well, this is at least somewhat refreshing. Im an adsense newb and am very aware of all the negative threads about this.
Its happened to a lot of people and there isn't much you can do about it other than try and apply for a new account with google adsense.
To be frank, Google will not like to ban a adsense user. Because they make lot of money from Adsense and why don't they ban people and lose their share of money? But when an individual tries to increase his own personal income and damages Google's brand image in the eyes of advertisers, then Google ban comes in to play. Any guy who is with adsense for more than a year, will definitely know insights of adsense and will never try to cheat the system. On the other hand he will try to increase his earnings and will try to match the income that he get from his day job. It is a newbie who tries to cheat the system and gets into ban. So, now wonder I vote for 2nd option. BTW great post!
how come we ban if we have legal site and legal traffic with good original content its not possible ...
Yeah, I know a lot of AdSense users IRL and I am not aware of anyone having been banned unless they were acting shady. I am quite skeptical about the reports posted here from people who claim to have been banned despite being innocent of TOS violations. To my recollection, not one of these people's cases has ever stood up to even light questioning here in the forum. Mostly they just spew and rage, which suggests the sort of childish mindset that I'd associate with short-term-view cheaters.
People, if you really want to make alot of money with something, I would highly recommend staying AWAY from adsense.... Yay I made $2.32 today ... WOOP DEE DOO. Go work at a mcdonalds and you'll make $50 a day. Unless you can create 100 targeted niche specific sites and make 5-10k a month, then I would highly recommend you stay away from adsense.
