Following on from our mysterious account closure I have now received a demand from Google Adwords Ireland for payments outstanding. They claim that because they have blocked our credit card they can no longer get the money we owe them. I checked my account and have found that they have already requested payment through the credit card on 22/11 ( it has not yet left our bank account). More alarmingly they have asked us to pay the outstanding amount by cheque to Google c/o AFS FinanceP.O. Box 9811Dublin 3- Ireland This seems incredibly poor to me ; particularly as they have engineered the closure of our account in the first place. I dont see how this could be a scam but it just doesnt seem right.
What is a virtual credit card? Can you tell us the name of this kind of cards? I was banned and I would try to back in adwords with a new name, new credit card etc. In order to change the IP address I thought to buy a new internet key (and another PC) - do you think it will work?
I think they are banned you by computer, so it is good to change your computer (go to internet cafe for example)
Today I submitted an ad regarding watching movies online for free. After submission the ad went into pending review mode. I was then reading the adwords guidelines and found that copyrighted content is a violation of their policies. So I decided to pause my ad campaign. But when I opened the campaign windows, I noticed that the ad has been approved and is live. Does this mean Google is ok with it or will they ban me still?
adbrite, msn - but you must to choose the right keywords - for example.: I haven't success with keyword "panic attacks" at all, but keyword "did I have panic attacks" was more then just successful Also if you want to collect subscribers try PPV traffic (not necessary that ppv in my signature find yours. Good Luck!
My Only suggestion would be to get a new debit or credit card with a different billing address and use either your middle name as your first name. When this happenned to me (yes I was naughty in my past but Im reformed now) I used my partners credit card.
Sorry I meant ADWORDS / my adsense account is fine. Multiple accounts are fine? What? Only other thing I can think of is when my last account stopped working they were not able to take my money from the account because my CC expired. I tried to login to update the information but my account was already not active and the New Credit Card would not be charged. I tried to call and find someone to pay with no luck. Only like $35 bucks or something. I have tried many times to pay to see if this helps but no one will take my money. The account balance is back to 0 though because they adjusted the ledger in my account. I have even faxed my new CC to them a couple times and no luck.
It's easy to get a new credit card for the verification, just use https://www.epassporte.com/or http://public.neteller.com. Both seem to work good.
I agree with Redfoot. How would you ever get to know which term is trademarked and which is not? People have been banned ridiculously for bidding on Trademarks.
At issue here is really that Google is an unapproachable monolith. I had issues over my ADSENSE (not adwords) account, got no joy from my one-sided communication with Google and teminated my adsense account. It was a relatively trivial issue, but I do prefer to forge business arrangements with companies that have real people that I can communicate with. It is worrying because of the size of Google and because they make the rules and if you either don't like them or they decide in their wisdom that you did something wrong, then you are up the proverbial creek without a paddle. No this is not a gripe or winge on my side, but it worries me that we are expected to have a business partner that is inapproachable! Let's face it with Adsense and with Adwords we are in partnership with Google and communication is essentially a two-way street. I don't like it one little bit.
Yup, had the same misfortune with adwords. We were promoting P2P products back in '07, they shut down our account and that was it for us. We tried different debit cards under different names, different addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, the whole shibang but they're just A holes about the whole thing yet they never give a clear cut reason (TOS is such a cop out). Our latest go around with them and I quote from their e-mail response..."I have reconsulted the specialist team about your account suspension, and have confirmed that our team's decision is correct and final. Your ads will no longer run on Google...Our support team is unable to provide any further information. Please do not contact us again." This was not in reference to P2P services/software either. To all of us that Google is being a pain in the butt to we should all coordinate our efforts and open up new accounts all in the same month (about a 1000 of them) and after they suspend the accounts do a charge back on them. 1000 charge backs in one month would look real pretty on their merchant account. LOL I think Google has a very pompous attitude.
I used Adwords 5 years, before they banned me. I sent Adwords serveral emails, however, they don't seem to be prepared to reconsider my case.
What they are saying is your money is not worth the risk. Probably a good decision. It is simple math and good decision making and by banning certain accounts, their value increases for less risky advertisers.
I was not banned by Google and did nothing illegal. Since there were a lot of replies to my original post, maybe I should explain the circumstance. My issue with Adsense was with the method of payment. South Africa is a third-world country where a high proportion of items sent by post are stolen, either by corruption within the post office or by people rummaging in your mail box. Something like 90,000 postal items (mostly cheques) are stolen every day, or simply don't reach the intended recipient. Since I could not reliably receive cheques dispatched by Google, I requested that Adsense revenue be paid directly in my bank account. This was something that Google was not prepared to consider while EFT or direct payment into a bank account is something every mom-and-pop store in South Africa does regularly as the preferred method of payment. Since I could not receive Adsense revenue in the first place due to the mailed cheques frequently going south, and due to the frustration that it was impossible to make contact with a flesh-and-blood person in the monolith called Google, as well as for the fact that Google makes the rules, and you be damned if you happen to think differently, I canned Adsense entirely. I still use Adwords though as well as many of Google's services. Communication is a two-way street, but with Google as a business partner it is a one-way street where the TOS is waved in your face and if you don't like it, sod it, because Google makes the rules. Yes, their TOS is a cop-out! I have buried the hatchet and Adsense is behind me. But any company that stops listening to its customers is a company that will soon be in trouble. And in the case of Google, it is much worse, not only was I a customer, but with Adsense you have a form of a virtual partnership with Google.
