Banned by comission junction ... Damn

I got banned by them because 2 of the sites I had listed in my list of sites had links to content they did not agree & one had some provocative pics . Their warning email I missed as it went in to spam

The thing that annoys me is these 2 sites never have had any of their adverts on it, only google. I forgot they were listed on CJ. Despite me telling them this they remain resolute in my account being terminated. Ok I lost 2k but really I did nothing wrong other than missed an email and had some sites listed as mine.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it pointless reapplying with my brother as the contact?

If the traffic was quality and the commissions earned weren't fraudulent you should get paid within 60 days even if you account was closed.

Yes, I heard that they send check after 60 days for the money thats not charged back by the advertiser.

Tip for all CJers : Check your mail box inside CJ also atleast 2-3 days once.

Just how 'provocative' were these pics? Did CJ actually list this as a reason to kick you?
Could it have been that your account was dropped because of inactivity?
Any chance we can get a look at the email they sent you?

I don't think CJ are anywhere near as strict as AdSense about people reapplying. Give it a shot. It's probably even worth reapplying in your own name.

The sites in question WHICH have never listed any CJ adverts. The traffic was all from a bans install @ www.homesonsale.co.uk/auction/ & my car site.

If you weren't running any CJ ads on those domains, how can CJ expect you to remove "all ads and links to CJ advertisers"... You can't remove what ain't there

This is a good warning for any of us who have inactive domains listed in CJ that may be displaying 'objectionable content'.

    Reapply. Fingers crossed :)

If you had those domains listed in the CJ profile and they contained violating material then they had every right to close your account. Regardless of whether you EVER had any clicks, impressions or ads from CJ on them. Having them listed in your CJ profile meant you intended to put ads on them.

At the same time, if your own sites contain several links to adult material based sites (even though your site doesn't) then it could also be considered a violation. Example if you were running an adult directory which just contains links to adult sites, but your directory is nice and clean is still a violation.

Point is that many CJ advertisers don't want to be listed on your site along side links to adult/porn based sites.

I know what you are saying - I replied by email & tried to call (Network Quality does not take calls) saying
    1. I will remove those sites & review others listed
    2. I have created a rule to pick up any emails from commission junction

I hope that this may help prevent others from having similar actions taken

Yea email them. I had similar problem and they said that they cant reinstate my account but I could go ahead and make a new one. Luckily at the time it was only $80. I have had my new account for about 2 years now with no problems.
    Good Luck

Yeah, CJ is fairly reasonable. Definitely not as ridiculous as Adsense [who sucks] that's for damn sure. I was kicked from CJ and now I'm back with a vengeance and making $$$ - life goes on and you'll do just fine.

FYI - there are about 1000 cj-like companies out there that you could join if necessary. :) Good luck 2 ya

    Hello All

on the subject of getting banned by CJ , if one of my registered sites were offering free downloads , can CJ banned my account.

Due to having free downloads?? or are the terms and conditions of having free downloads depend upon the individual advertisers??

    cheers
