As we all know, in FireFox you can type a keyword and it will act as "I'm Feeling Lucky" in Google Search. I used to use the keyword "wamu" to go to wamu.com, Washington Mutual's web banking portal. But now, when I type in wamu, I get the Google Search Results page, and Washington Mutual is like 9th in the search results. Leading? GurBlogs, which has like no real usage of Wamu, besides random postings about how his blog is coming up in Wamu searches and being viewed by Washington Mutual themselves. Also leading, a University Radio Station named WAMU. How do these overtake one of the largest banks in the US? The hell is going on with Google now days?
The last 2 updates seem to make search results worse in google. How can any site be ranked higher then the actual website for that company.
wamu has recently redesigned the website, so that may have affected serps in google. IMHO, it was better before LOL.
The update is kind of nice, but Google should be keeping tabs on high end sites like this, especially if they are big money movers. If they allow complete SERPs movement, imagine if one of these blog owners redesigns their site to look like the real WAMU site and steals passwords and such from unsuspecting users? IMHO, a multi-billion dollar company like Google can afford to have a few guys checking up on the mainstream and tier 1 sites.
Looks like they cleared it all up now. Must have been a really bad glitch or something. Sorry for the double post, but it's on topic and out of time range to edit my last post.
