hi . i deposit check (from usa) to andhra bank (my bank ) after 2 months also i didnt see any credit of that check , i m sure the bank have lost the check if yes what are the things i can do. can i put a case on them as i cannot retrieve another check from the company it was sent from . please advise
Make one zerox copy of check deposit slip and show that copy to your andhra bank (don't give them original copy) and ask for its credit (OR current status). DON.
By showing them the check deposit slip, I am sure your bank officials would be able to locate the whereabouts of your check. Even if the check is lost, filing lawsuit would not help much as it would take years for any meaningful resolution to come in your favor. Just take their help in contacting the check issuing person/firm to persuade for a new check! Regards, RightMan
Do you have kept the check attached half slip? Its confirmation that check has been accepted by bank , and also help you regarding these type of problems.
I also have ?? As Now banks have drop boxes for checks so they don't give you receipts/confirmations that the checks has been received @bank end. So how you guys doing it...any tips/tricks on this pls. share it...how to make them accountable??
Yes i have shown them the slip he told me he wil find out and tell me where the funds are.. the service of andhra bank is the worst i need to wait hours to talk to the concern person and now he is trying it iqnore me. i am really fedup the check amount is $4500 , and that company is closed now so i dont wanna tell them the situation or they can try to cancel the check and iqnore me aswell...
well in that case , first be sure the company didn't closed its bank account , but no worries you can sue the company if check bounce. Tell them , if they won't care about your case , you have to reach consumer forum with the reciept.
That is good amount of money you have on hold and it is good that you at least have the check deposit counter foil. The bank would be liable to get you the check back or the funds, if the same is cleared! If bank officials are trying to ignore you, you would do well to act and talk tough. Sometimes, politeness is misunderstood for weakness! Moreover, if the issuing company has shut shop, who would be responsible for clearing your check? Regards, RightMan
there wil be no problem with the company as i know them . they are legitmated. i am just worried wat can i do with the bank .. any advised
Thats really strange. I never heard that a Bank lost the check. It means they don't take care of the things properly. - Digital -
There is nothing you can do to the bank except filing a court case which would take years for judgment to come. If you genuinely want your funds quickly, just have a close interaction with your bank officials to trace the whereabout of your check, and if it is lost, inform about the same to this legitimate company and request for re-issuance! The faster you take this action, the better are your chances to get your funds or a freshly issued check.... Regards, RightMan
same thing happned to me also long before, they lost the check no or something i dont know the exact they asked me get new check, but in our cause new check is not possible after when you show the slip what that bank told to you?
How can a bank ignore a customer in this era of competition? US checks can take up to 45 days to clear, so make sure that's not the case here. There's a mandatory 21 day holding period in all Indian banks.
Most companies will issue you another check if you wait a while. Isn't there a time limit on how long a check is valid for? I know google will issue a new check if something happens to the first one.
I knew someone this happened to after a month . he walk up to the drop box which was on the bank wall and ripped the box off the wall the police came but guess what the check was found behind the wall of where the box was...
