Bank charges on cashing our google cheques?

Discussion in 'Payments' started by webseo, Aug 7, 2005.

    Hi all
I am a publisher for Australia, who is about to cash his forst Google cheque, but Im in a bit of a dilema as the cheque isnt that big and I dont want the bank to get it all.

Has anyone made up a list of banks all over the world that take googles cheques but dont charge an arm and a leg to cash them?

I gues if my site was making a couple of grand a month i wouldnt be so concerned, but i need every dollar.

    Any suggestions?

I'm in India and none of the banks charge any money if the curerncy of your cheque is in your country's currency! If it's in US Dollar's and you are in some other country other then USA then they charge few bucks for conversion!

In India, Google issues a Citibank cheque which is payable at par with all Citibank branches in India.

So if you are account bank account is in a city that also has a Citibank branch, no commission would be charged.

Google can send checks in other currencies. Have you checked if A$ is available?

I'm an Aussie adsenser... and I have my cheques sent to me in Australia dollars that way I can just bank them without incurring a bank fee... All you need to do is change your detials under your accounts adsense to pay in Australian dollars... and I must admit adsense do give a good currency exchange rate... from US to Australian dollars... Save a lot of trouble and time...

So I got the Check on 8th November. I brought it to the german Postbank and yesterday the money was on my hand (one week with Postbank) Postbank charge was 5 €. That is all not bad.

The only thing is, I never know whenn the Dollar comes up higher (to the Euro). Google payed me last on the worst day, whenn the Dollar was down.
But that is not a big problem.

Is EFT not available for Adsense publishers in Australia - it's the way to go. Several days faster than waiting for a check.

Here in Canada, they generally charge $5.00 to do a USD conversion if the check is not in CAD. The bigger issue is that many banks have a 30 BUSINESS day hold on cheques from foreign institutions - it varies from branch to branch and depends on how many foreign checks you deposit.

EFT is one major headache saver, and it works flawlessly on Google - at least for the major chartered banks in Canada.

    Cheers,

    Rob

Thats what I do. I get them to send the cheque in Australian dollars as my bank St George wanted $10 AUD to cash a foreign cheuqe USD I got from StormPay, luckily it was for $200 plus USD so did not really matter that time but it is good of Google to send the cheque in native dollar.

every check I deposited to my bank account was deducted only by $3.

it's a worst thing in your situation. $30 is already big.
