I am not surprised as ICICI is known to charge hefty fees! :(
Switch to a good bank like HDFC and notice the difference yourself. Btw... Paypal does allow mass payments transactions, particularly when coming from advertising and/or affiliate companies.

My reply may not be useful, but just thought I will post.

    From my experience

SBT - Same day clearance, Max of Rs.60 as their charge irrespective of the cheque amount.
Federal Bank - Same day clearance, Max of Rs.100 as their charge irrespective of the cheque amount.

    From what I heard.

SBI - Same day clearance, Max of Rs.100 as their charge irrespective of the cheque amount. We will get the amount x 40 Rs on the day and rest on next day (may be the exchange rate thing).

Sorry, not sure about other banks.

HDFC charges 300 per US cheque. I get around 500-600$ every 2 months from CJ as cheque and they charge 300 minimum charges. (They charge 300 or 1% whichever is higher). What you need to do is request cheque when the amount is atleast 500$. That way you don't need to pay too much to banks. Also it takes around 25 days for clearance of USD cheque.

I think your talking about INR Cheques. (Like Paypal or Google Adsense). The OP is talking about USD cheque and it takes a min.of 16 days. Plus there is a cool off period and then the amount is deposited into our account.
