I brought a bulk domain lot of a site last week and found a good name in there
    ratemynight.com

for last few days been thinking how to promote or build.

one idea was to do a review site, like clubs, pubs, hotel ect
another was to do photos and have it rated and put where you went ect

tell me folks, what jumps in your head when you say the name?

The idea sounds good to me. Kind of like Yelp just for the people who love to have fun at night. May get some good following.

I personally feel that you started off on the wrong foot by buying a lot of domain names. How much time are you going to spend building and promoting each one... everyday? There's only 24 hours in a day... you're probably up around 16 of those hours. I think you should rethink your business strategy - seriously.

hey seamouse, cool it. .yours sound like a travel review site to me.. so i think you can engage people to write reviews for a niche group of travellers. don't go broad or general because there are simply too, too many travel review sites around.

Build a review site and add photo of the products in the site. make Script Social Media friendly as SEO is history slowly.

Try hotscripts. I just typed Yelp in their search and it brought up a bunch of scripts similar to Yelp:

    http://www.hotscripts.com/search/all-scripts/yelp

You can, of course, refine your searches.

to be honest i stay away from hot scripts as seems they only like to promote old or outdated scripts.

i have seen some drupal7 sites with reviews added in

in a few hrs been here ( been to docs )

    seen
    http://b-scripts.com/en/18-city-reviewer-yelp-clone.html
    http://demo.symphonythemes.com/index.php?theme=bizreview&category=all&screen=1240px
    http://demo.meeplace.com/
    http://business.demos.crowdvox.com/

i have 4-6 domains i wanna move, to fund a new site

also have a good nache site and twitter and facebook and ipb board, i wanna sell as set up and views, but no members yet, so a good site for someone

A review site is good. Do you have social media ready? How about content strategy? The site you have is quite good.

Nightclubs and bars seems to be a good idea. How are you planning on monetizing the site?

I also agree night clubs, bars, restaurants. Maybe establishments open 24 hours.

If you want to make good money, I think it should be "hotel reviews". My suggestion is to target micro niche audience first, not to cover everything. When Facebook started, they targeted only Havard university students first.

Now about monetization, if you are just starting, it would be great if you don't want ads on the website. Try to gain traction online and when you have enough traffic, start calling hotels to ask them to do premium listing, email marketing with you. That will get you farther than just putting up ads right off the bat. It can be the next multi-million/billion dollar site, who knows, right? The possibility online is endless.
