Did I read this wrong or what? Can someone take a look at : http://www.lypha.com/hosting_plans.shtml This is the hosting plan that I am using. Look where it says bandwidth. How much bandwidth do you think I should have per month? Thanks
I read this: for $7,95 you get a Tier-1 connection that is unmetered instead of the same connection with a max of 150GB/mth if you sign up today. I really hope you signed up today ! note: English is not my primary language -- for all I know that site is selling guns.
Thanks so I did read that right. That (only today) is always there. So that meaning that I should never have a bandwidth limit. Guess I need to go get upset with my hosting company.
Judging form experience, I would say 150 gigs/mo can support 10k visitors a day, assuming your site doesn't have any large files for download.
You should in theory have an unmeatered T1. Which would be 1.4mb/second or 500gb/month. However I am pretty sure that is not what they really meant because that does not seem like any datacenter I have dealt with.
I wouldn't trust them too far. At least make sure you get a screenshot when you signed up, with them showing that clause. That way you'll at least be able to prove that they breached the deal if it comes to that. I've had one nasty experience (not with hosting) where a site offered a "special deal", didn't deliver and subsequently changed their page after my complaints, without me having something to prove it. Luckily the Advertising watchdog in my country gave them some problems
They give out unmetered bandwith only because they hope ppl won't exceed their infrastructure. I 've always kept myself away from this kind of deals. Not to say they're really expensive...
