While search for a dedicated hosting, I've encountered a term about bandwidth in which I'm not sure what it means. I've seen that there are 3 main options about bandwidth, for example: 1) 2000GB bandwidth 2) 10Mbps shared bandwidth 3) 10Mbps dedicated bandwidth What are the differences between them?
They give you an option between those three? If so: The first one is how much bandwidth you can use in a month The second one is the total mb's per second you can use on shared hosting The third one is the total mb's per second you can use on dedicated hosting That's what I'm getting from that at least.
1. bandwidth cap, no guarantee on speed/rate 2. a 10mbps port (i.e. you can transfer at a max rate of 10mbps) but it's shared with others? seems weird for a dedicated server 3. your own 10mbps port/connection atleast I think
Thanks for the answers, but I got a few more questions. 1) If I got something like 2000GB bandwidth but I know I will never use that much bandwidth, will there be any differences between this option and the 10Mbps port? 2) I still have no idea what is the differences between shared and dedicated bandwidth. If the speed is not guaranteed, then how is it differs from the bandwidth cap? (assuming I'll never reach the cap)
