If you have a better processor do you get better bandwidth out of it? So for example if I had 2 servers with 2000gb each, would the better processor be able to go for longer? Thanks!
If you have 2000gb bandwidth, then that is what you got! Then you have the speed, for an example! 100mpbs is quicker then 10mbps and would most likely give you and your visitors a better browsing experience if you run a busy website!
I wish I could afford my own 100mpbs dedicated! That would be awesome... How much bandwidth could you get from a dedicated 100mpbs port?
It is said to be 33000 GB (33TB) but with overhead and other things I'd expect ~30TB or so. You would have to be pushing constant 12.5MB/s.
You get about 32TBin/out if it was being pushed constantly. Many servers you see are based upon 100Mbit ports but are just limited by bandwidth, true dedicated bandwidth on good providers will put you back around $15/Mbps.
Bandwidth is going down.. a lot. $15 per mbit is a bit too high. Maybe for 10mbit commits.. but if you're going up to 100mbps, prices should be $6-12 for standard mixed bandwidth, depending who you're buying from, and what prices they get. $15 is acceptable for premium bandwidth such as Internap though.
We use Infomart's connections! And from what i have heard and read, then they are nothing but AWESOME with their connections!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Infomart is a building in Dallas, not a bandwidth provider. It all depends who you're colocated with. (or if you lease your own space in the building, who you're connected to)
No, But Infomart has 3 dedicated providers directly into the heart! What i ment was not that Infomart was the provider, but that they got access to some of the best providers
The heart of the internet is Amsterdam, the Netherlands. (AMS-IX, Amsterdam Internet Exchange) Currently with 299 connected bandwidth providers. (Like Level-3, KPN, Cogent, Telia, and others) and over 400Gbit of peak traffic. The 2nd best location is London (LINX) with 295 connected parties and over 256Gbit of peak traffic. I am sorry but there is currently no other country getting even close to that traffic.
