It's coming to a head soon. 3 weeks until Microhoo or Yahsoft...or whatever the hell they morph into, assuming they do. I wonder if the recent spike in slurp activity is somehow related to this.

I doubt Yahoo! will accept Microsoft's deal.

They might not have a choice if it trickles down to share holders.

If Microsoft does 'takeover' Yahoo!, will opinions of them go down? Up?

I dont want microsoft to take over Yahoo.

They mess everything they own up...

    Windows vista
    Xbox 360
    windows 7 (probably gonna suck)
    service pack 1 for vista
    Windows mobile 6 and 7...

Microsoft always rushes and does things wrong...

I don't think Yahoo will survive this, it all boils down to the shareholders and I don't think they will pass up this opportunity.

Microsoft tried an unsuccessful bid at Yahoo last year, and I don't see why this time should be any different.

And even if they formed some sort of conglomerate, Google is still the king!

Yahoo is in a different situation with their business becoming less and less useful.

I hope they can come to an agreement this merger may give google some much needed competition.

Yahoo! announced higher than expected 1st quarter earnings yesterday. They are doing all they can to deter the uninvited suitor, Microsoft. MS's CEO, Steve Ballmer is reported as stating the 1st quarter's results will not change Microsoft's bid. With the deadline set for 4/26, Yahoo! has a big decision to make. If Yahoo!’s board refuses the offer on Saturday, we may be watching one dramatic attempt at a hostile takeover.

If Y drops the ball on this one, it is gonna bounce like a flat beachball, you are gonna see Y's stock hit a new low below where it was when M$ made its offer. I think everone who owns the stock knows this, and will back the sale to preserve the value it has at the moment.

    Disclaimer: IMHO
