Baffled..

    Hi all,

    Is it me, or is there something weird happening with backlinks on G. I decided to check the text cache for a number of sites backlinks, ie 'link:www.xyz.com', then view cache on various results, (and text cache), and buggered if I can find the relevant link on around 80% of the pages I'm checking.

    Anyone notice this ? (or am I behind the times with G cache - it's probably me..) :)

    noticed same with many sites. It doesn't make sense. I would wait and see what comes next. Otherwise you'll go nuts trying to analyze their latest mishap :rolleyes:

    I think they're about half way through a major DC synchronization/backlink update, it's not over yet. I'm now up to a new backlink count on 21 or sometimes 25 of the 39 DC's in McDar's tool...I dont expect this to settle for at least another few weeks. (In the meantime yahoo has almost doubled the number in the psat week - I'll probably wait till september before google shows em.)
