    Hi Guys,

I am trying to collect a list of known SEO companies who offer BAD services.

I would love if anyone has any suggestions (other than TrafficPower ; )

The reason I would like to have the list, is so I can try and warn domestic site owners of the dangers associated with using said "SEO" firms.

Any that have been banned from G or show a Grey bar or white bar would be great. Cheers guys.

you have to be VERY certain of your facts before posting bad stuff about a person or company as fact.

What if an SEO does some stuff to a page that is legit, then the owner has a mate who knows better and alters it. Tyhe page gets banned, the owner complains to the mate who says it was nothig he did.

The site owner blames the SEO, you repeate the claim, but it makes no difference, it will be YOU they sue.

    No worries there...

I have put a disclaimer saying that I have never used these companies, and that users should be wary of companies that guarantee 1st page results.

I don't know what the law i like in your company, but to tell people that 'xxx has sex with pigs', and then put a disclaimer saying, 'but I have never sen him do it' is about as much protection as a ricepaper raincoat.

If YOU are stating things as fact, i.e. xxx id this, then they did that. Without the careful use of the word 'allegedly', and making 100% clear that what is on the page are allegations of wrongdoing, together with an invitation to put their side of the case. Then you will lose your case.

Makes no difference to me, I just think you are going out on a limb. The safest way is to put up a place where people can vent their anger about certain companies, without your own intervention or editing (if you edit, then you are approving what is left). A disclaimer saying that this is a public forum and the views expressed are not those of the owners blah blah blah. is the safest way to protect yourself!

I am merley stating that these companies claim that they can guarantee #1 results. I am then quoting exactly what google have said about companies that say they do that kind of thing.

Nothing slanderous or nasty at all.

I would justr like people to realise that they shouldn't waste money on a firm that says that they can guarantee #1 results. Because they cant

Then you shouldn't need to use names. Just inform your readers that it is impossible to "Guarantee" #1 results, and explain why.

As OWG said, you have to be very certain about stating facts about named persons or companies.

And, by the way, I'm fairly certain that the laws are the same in Wales as in Buckinghamshire :D:D:D
