It wasn't me either, but I can understand why you got negative rep... posting "hmm........k" wasn't exactly a milestone in the history of forum posting, was it?
Ehh I gave him green .... even if hmm......k really is not a milestone people just give reds for no reason. I do it sometimes even hehe but when I see someone in a thread that cries about rep I always send some green LOVE hoping they will feel better
well i could have put i neither agree or disagree to much controversy round the whole thing., plus seems to make no difference on what i link to too or seo after 9 or 10 months traffic stops dead for no reason i can see. Its not the red that bothers me, its the snide cowardly remarks.
*sigh* No wonder you are in the red. Hint: if you neither agree nor disagree, if you have no opinion at all on an issue, you have nothing to say in that thread, so just don't post. Addendum: And if you take this thread off-topic again, I'll red rep you myself.
there is nowhere saying i Cant comment eitherway is there? everytime you have some smart remark IMO LOL il gladly refrain from commenting on your banausic points 'sheesh' nice remark at the end lol 'chill winston, you'll end having an embolism' your the man however i did not mean to hijack the thread , for that im sorry
Nice piece of info I had a question though - If the links from one's website actually are very relevant does it have an effect on the rankings? As there is a penalty for bad neighbourhood so shouldnt there a consideration if linked to good (relevant) neighbourhood. j/k
Boy, it that ever true! I run a religion website. One of my outbound links to a religious site somehow ended up being a link to a gambling site! A visitor to my website emailed me about it, and I quickly deleted that link. I have no idea how that religious site changed into a gambling site. So, yes, review outgoing links periodically for bad links, lest you lose credibility with your site visitors.
Yes it does. Don't be afraid to link to good resource sites just for the heck of it. Link to relevant ones and google will like it.
Since I like poking holes in things like this, let me play the debil for a sec We all know that Google does penalize sites that link with bad neighbors. We also can assume that most webmasters dont really prune their links when they have thousands. So if you wanted to kill a competitors rankings you could create a lot of sites, link with this competitor and then proceed to get those sites penalized/banned. IMHO this is a major flaw in Googles Algo. This is also another reason that I dont personally house link directories on any of my primary sites. I have found that by creating a subdomain for the reciprocal linking directory I can avoid any of these issues with linking to bad neighbors but still able to offer value for the exchange.
actually we don't know that, or at least we don't really know what a bad neighborhood is, do we? Do you guys know the address of bad neighborhood? So I can check one out?
For your information, visio (and anyone else), I was NOT the one who left that comment, as mobilebay now knows. And I indicated that just above his post.
Glad to see peolle are really willing to contribute to your replicated article and not to my jokes and comments PS thanks for the red goes well with my jealousy streak... yes true Visio, you d assume he was british with his dry humour and sarcasm Like me
