Just recently, I had to make a visit to the bank regarding a charge from paypal. I was told from paypal that I should make a claim with my bank, because of the content of my issue, so thats what I did. Then... yesterday, I got a email from paypal sazying I have -$550 in my account. I emailed paypal about it, and they wotn respond. The one response I did get told me to simply look at what the charge was for. No help at all... I think I am giving them a call about it today.

Anyone else ever have a bad experience with paypal?

Was this the $550 you payed for a turnkey site that you turned around and tried to sell here for $3,000 with fake stats?

These things take time to figure out. You can't expect a large financial institution to answer an email right away when it's sent on a sunday.

The simple solution would be to check your account stats and see what the charge was that brought your account balance down.

We've had many debates on DP about Paypal, some people never have a problem, others (like myself) have had problems. I suggest you check out the link and phone Paypal. In my experience they are a lot more effective over the phone than by email.

... I think Im going to call in like 5 minutes. They told me I can not re-open a claim so its too bad in a email I just got. So as of right now, I paid $550 for something I never got... so I guess you could say it was like a $550 doantion for a bad cause :(

Actually... I was quite suprised on how helpful this guy was on the phone now. He gave me a special email account in which I can send them the complete details, and they can try to re-open the claim. He also told me if needed I can contact the police, and tell them what is going on, and they will get the money back.

Only thing I was unhappy about was... accordign to my phones time, it took 8 minutes for a representative to pick up. He was a real nice guy though, who actually sounded like a normal american, so I am not complaining.

No issues and for now we use them for our shopping cart system, although we're exploring other merchant solutions due to the fees they charge. I had some issues with usps.com with being charged for shipping charges for labels that wouldn't print using my Paypal debit card. I called Paypal after the charges weren't taken off, and they were very pleasant and took care of everything. They're definitely better over the phone than via e-mail.

Paypal Sucks - I ordered online a hardware for $399.99
the seller sent $10.00 worth of item, gf signed for it by accident (since I ordered lot's online), tried to claim frauf from paypal and get money back, after two weeks of dispute , they closed dispute saying it was resolved but wasn't - still missing the $389.99 worth of items. so I just called my bank and a few days later - $399.99 into my account.

I called Paypal and they told me they will only go far into the fraud claim if
you make the purchase thru E-bay ... what a bunch of lemon ..seems like they rather just closed them tickets and go the next easier tickets.
