Hi to all thankyou for choosing to read my post. I am curious to listen to your stories on wasting money on traffic programs hoping one will work. Here is my story Recentley i purchase an ebook that was advertised saying a secret method for generating millions of visitors a month the cost was $113.98 i was curious so i purchased then once i wasted a good few hours reading it the basic jist of it was build a newsletter base and send newsletters. And of course the annoying thing was how do i get the traffic to build my newsletter. How many of you have bought such programs and does anyone know of one that actually works.
Had a similar experience recently. Spent $50 on 10,000 uniques. No sales - nothing. I'm also looking to buy traffic which converts. Any offers carefully considered.
$113 on an ebook? You could have bought 4 or 5 real books from the bookstore about marketing, and advertising. I have wasted money myself though, and it has really boiled down for me to quality of visitor. For my new site APopularityContest.com I have tried 3 different ways. One site gave me tons of visitors, and many of them voted. I got few new members though, and hardly any returns. The next site cost more, and had simlar results. The first way was better. The third try was google adwords. The cost was huge compared to the first two per visitor, BUT...the few visitors I get from it join, comeback, and it is really starting to work out. I even bumped my monthly allowance from them.
I have personally not found a good "traffic program", and like you I have tried some ebooks, some guaranteed traffic deals but not one sale from any of it. I really don't believe any of that stuff works. They even sell one called "traffic secrets" for I think $900. I think there are more people making money on the net trying to sell people ideas of how to make money or bring in traffic that makes money.
Well I'm eating my words with the google adwords. It kind of works, but I am getting way better results with just people linking to me. Right now for me free does not even cost less, it has better results.
I personally think that 'big marketing pages', which go on and on praising about an ebook by giving 'real user experiences' etc are simply nothing more than tricking the user in buying their eBook. A suggestion I'd like to give here is to review and consult with other people, maybe like on DP for a review of the ebook / site promoting it and then buy it. It might sound funny to some people, but I actually pay a lot of emphasis on Google PR of such sites. If its a PR 0 site / page then its out of my list. Usually well established organizations would have been around for a long time if they are promoting something useful. New sites that come up trying to earn a few bucks quickly usually have a very new site with 0 Page Rank. You should also see how old a site it before relying on it, especially if money is involved.
solution is donot trust on testimonials . Ask them to give free trail .or prove in some way their system works . (give 20% of product free and let users test it etc .)in that way such peoples can get more sales and users will not feel cheated .
Well, I used some free "get fast visits" in my "young" days as a developer .. they were only good so that I can "heal' my bruised ego. The traffic needs to be "natural". I find such programs to be misleading and bad in the end. Won't talk about "lying yourself", but about the fact they do give you a false sense of "security". I had months with some awful traffic, but I was aware that SOMETHING was wrong. Then I made a "change" and kept on working hard and little by little the stats weren't as bad as before. I'd rather work slowly for a steady improvement, than just "fool" myself into thinking I am doing well, to find out that I am "bankrupt" after the artificial traffic source is no longer used.
Sorry that the ebook you bought turned out to be misleading. IMO 'get traffic quick' programs and/or "buying traffic in bulk' seldom work. You've probably received SPAM from at least a few of these types of programs and businesses promising you 10,000 hits to your website for only 19.99. And while this sounds pretty appealing, as you found out, it can be easy to waste your money on these kinds of programs. This is not to suggest that ALL traffic programs (and traffic purchase programs) are scams, but to encourage you to do more research before you commit to purchasing. Also, if you are targeting a niche, you're probably aren't going to be able to make these traffic generating buys pay off for you. For example, if you are selling bear traps, you probably aren't going to find even one person out of a random 100,000 who is interested in your product. You'd be better off spending your money on pay-per-click search listings under the term 'bear traps'. There are countless organizations that DO provide this kind of traffic. Here is a list of some of the more well-known companies for your examination: www.spiralhits.com www.easysitehits.com www.clickquest.com www.trafficdepot.com www.guaranteed-hits.com www.buyhits.net www.site-hit.com www.4webhits.com www.click4u.com If you ( or anyone!) are going to test any of these traffic generation programs, I would highly recommend that you start with a SMALL purchase, and see if you get any results. If you can't make a single sale from 10,000 visitors, then you probably won't have much luck with 100,000 visitors, either. Remember: Test, test, test ... and then test some more! I've personally never sought any programs to build traffic. In my opinion, beginning a reciprocal link campaign with like-minded websites, will be your best bet to begin a good traffic flow. It is by no means the only way, but an old favorite, nonetheless. I agree that if you're just getting started online, the biggest challenge will be getting visitors to your website. After all, it can be weeks before your site starts to show up in the free search engine results like Google and Yahoo! In the mean time, nobody will know your site is out there--unless you advertise. I suggested some ideas and strategies on another thread about free advertising you may want to check out. While most people picture those outrageous sums that are always being quoted for advertising during sports events or awards shows when they think about advertising, the fact is that a lot of advertising for your website can be very affordable.--as long as you know that you're doing. Best of Luck! Lilly
I have fallen into this trap, this is worthless traffic, I have not heard from anyone that has generated 1 sale from this.
I think the cost of bandwidth equals to sales it is just not worth it as i generate no interest using the traffic. Thankyou for your help it was appreciated.
I tried a traffic program, supposedly sending people from expired domains. I got lots of hits but not one click on the adsense on the page. I doubt it was even humans creating the traffic.
The reason why you dont get sales from these lame programs is because usually they run another site behind the scenes known as PPC site (Pay Per Click)... they pay users to go to your site and every site they go to they pay them like .0001cents... Yah people sign up and click on links all day for .0001 cents... So basically people go to ur site... and then instantly leave... this isnt traffic you want, nor is it good if you run google/yahoo ads on ur site.... Anyways my 5 cents... The best thing would probably be advertising your site..... I mean to be honest starting a website now-a-days is getting harder as more and more come everyday, your site has to be unique to succeed anymore... Blah makes me wish more and more i started up my own site 2 years ago.. *my friend ran a PPC site,,, blah he made over 100k from it!*
I have found a good traffic program it is expensive but it actually works i have had about 9 signups that is 1 in 10 conversion which is not too bad.
