    The new soon to be released PHP link directory 3.0 has a setting where you can adjust the degree of distortion in the image validation.Another excellent addition to this brilliant script.
    Personally I would only start using the image validation if my dir started getting spammed.

    Yeah I probably should have mentioned that in my first post. I use phpld and think it's an awesome directory script. v3.0 is going to be sweet.

    I use Firefox extension http://www.quirk.co.za/searchstatus/ .

    GREAT tool for discovering robots.txt and nofollow links.

    Right click on the context menu and choose "show robots.txt". If its there it will pop up in a new tab and there you can see what is allowed and for what robots on that site.

    in the bottom status bar you'll see a "q". Click on that with the right hand mouse button and you'll see all the extras.

    Here is a new one that I have been seeing lately. Not that serious, but here goes.

    I have received approval emails from some directories but I can't figure out what directory I have been approved for. They do have a note telling me to check out their other directories. These other directories do have clear links and URLs.
