What Shawn is saying is - The Google link command does not show all the backlinks it has for any website in its database since about 3 months ago. Use Yahoo as it is a much better barometer of your links. There is currently no way to verify if Google sees all of the links that Yahoo has for you. You have to trust in the force. May the force be with you.l
Go to Y! and search there. Just remember that the command used there is: domain:www.yourdomain.com Edit: Uppss... sorry. That one is to check how many pages are indexed by Y! To check links to your site you should use: linkdomain:www.yourdomain.com
try @:yourdomain.com it will pull up every example that google has found of yourdomain.com in source code.
I think MSN beta (http://beta.search.msn.com/) is actually far more accurate in reporting links than Y!. The format is link:http://www.yourdomain.com Of course it is only reporting what is in its own database, but I think it is a safe bet that Google has found all of the same links too.
62 on G 261 on Y 1148 on msn beta I would have to say msn beta is a little bit more up to date good call ya all
Nice call indeed ! I've just checked this and (as i should have expected) MSN is indeed accounting for around 98% backlinks.. it accounts for 98% of spam too, so it makes sense I just finished integrating a Yahoo IBL check for a recip links directory I'm working on. Looks like I'm in for a couple of hours scripting - what you've found is even better. Cheers guys JL
