Backup with Statistics

I'm going to take 1 company adwords account and they are currently working with another company. Because of the contract they made each other, company will delete all the campaigns.

I made the back up of adwords account (following this page http://support.google.com/adwords/editor/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=38658) but I'm not sure if it's backing up statistics too. Is there a different way to back up for statics or is it included in this "aea" file?

AE only backs up the keywords and ads, not the statistics. If you need that data (and you will), use the online interface, create all the reports you need and download. I suggest creating reports as segmented as possible: by network, day and anything else you can thing of.

I'm curious as to why a management company would delete the client's campaigns. That is wrong to me.

Thanks for your help @Lucid Web Marketing ( Don't know why but they signed for it at the contract)

Now I'm confused! The backup from "Adwords Editor" is just for "Adwords Editor"?
    OR
Can I use the back up files (just in case, I made aea, csv and aes files) when the other company reset the Adwords account and use backup files to set campaigns just like before (and if yes, do I have to make it manually or automatically)?

PS: Since all campaigns will be deleted and I have to create them again (manually or automatically from a backup file), do I have to wait for Adwords to accept ads again (I think the answer is yes but I just want to be sure because it'll take long time to set more than 500 text ads plus keywords into Adwords again)?

If you just want to know the keywords and Ads, signup for bing ads and import everything. later on you can put them back here..

yes you will have to wait for the acceptance.

The back restore function of AE should give you everything back but i am not sure , never got a chance to resotre something in Adwords

After research, I found that there is no way to delete anything from Adwords (you have to close account if you want to delete everything). When you delete something at Adwords, it's actually "disable" it but it still remains there because of you might need that in the future (and maybe enable again).

But one thing I still didn't understand : If there is no way to delete, why Adwords Editor has a backup function?

PS: I think the answer is "just to not download everything all over again" but not sure...

That is standard and proper database management procedure. You should never, ever physically delete a record. It's marked as a deleted record (or some other word) in most database systems. This usually prevents the data to be accessed as if it's deleted but most systems still let you access it somehow if you want/need to.

Closing (I think they call it cancel) the account also doesn't delete anything either. In fact, you can have a cancelled account un-cancelled. No need to cancel anyway. You may want to use it later. It's just sitting there not being used just as it would if you officially told Google to cancel it.

The backup function in AE has nothing to do with you deleting data. It's just like backing up your other data and files on your computer. You want a secondary place, a copy, of your data just in case something goes wrong and you lose the original. Not that you'd really need this because you can always get it back online. It could take a bit of time to do so depending on how much you have but most don't have that much and even so, it doesn't take that long. I do it all the time when getting new clients. You can also use the backup to share with someone else or transfer to another computer but that's what the AES files are meant for.
