I did buy new laptop they didn't give me restore CD they told me to backup the hidden drive, I have no idea how I could do this, How I can back up the Windows Vista hidden drive I search Google I never find such info there... maybe my keywords was wrong, Could you help me backup my hidden drive that contents Windows Vista Just in case something happen to windows or computer to restore it. How much CDs/DVDs that will be required for the backup?
Most laptops have an automated "create install disc" feature to make a DVD backup of the Vista installation partition. I recently bought a Vista laptop for my neighbour, and the first thing I did was make a DVD backup of the rescue partition. From memory, I think it requires 2 DVDs. Search your PDF/paper manual for help. Or at least give us your laptop brand and model.
But where, I also buy one for me and one for my sister, Mine is Toshiba Satellite A205, And Other one is Acer Aspire 5738, Thanks
These partitions are usually for a full system restore, once your laptop goes past the initial boot screen, try hitting f11 repeatedly, usually you'll get a recovery console that has options just like insterting the "recovery: disk. Give it a shot an let me know how it works out I'm a laptop tech and about 98% of the pc's that come in have this feature, the other 2% have the data to make a restore disk from that partition.
There is "Backup and restore center" But when i try to backup i find its backup documents, pictures .. Files of the user not the core system files that in the hidden partition.
You could also request a backup disk off of your MFG for shipping charges usually. Call their tech support to see how to make one first though as they have specific instructions for each computer.
