    hi there....

I have a Power Mac running Max OS X which has 800GB of data. And 2 Windows machine running XP with 400GB and 800GB of data. In all that's 3 big machines...
And I am getting a new iMac as well with 320GB hard disk running Leopard.

This is really lots of data to handle and sharing data between them is getting messy.

So my company provided me with a data server running Linux (i know its bad but they found it cheap).

So basically I am looking for a backup solution for all of my machines on the Linux server.

I have heard of Time Machine... but have no ideas if it would work on a network which has 2 Windows Machine and a Linux data server for backup storage.

Is there a solution to it... ??

why not check them out http://www.ibackup.com/

if the data is really important , Then you have to shell out some money for your data,

I have never use their service cause i do my own back up, But I have clients I have sent there and are using there service, and have help a lot when the hard drive crash and all information lost..

I dont know why will you want a big hard drive to use as your primary hard drive.

I have windows vista install on a 60GB hard drive, anything I have on the computer im always using, But to save music movies files etc.. I prefer to save them to my network and automatic created a data disk on DVD as well, So double the protection for safe data keeping..

But it all depends, If you do a lot of video editing, Then yes I will understand why you need a lot of storage space, But if not, Then dont know why..

but we all have out own way of using our computer, But do hope you look into the site for more info.. But being you have your own hosting, Then what you need is a standalone windows backup utility . read here for a quick guide http://lifehacker.com/software/geek...omatically-back-up-your-hard-drive-147855.php
