Backpage is better then CL? Have you had any success with them?

I just discovered backpage.com today and was very impressed with their paid advertising. I was wondering if anyone has had success using their program? Most of my conversions come from craigslist, and I have to tell you at this point I would almost rather get a real job then keep trying to post there.

Backpage however lets me click options like "automatically bump to top every 3 days for $.05" and "List as sponsored result in multiple cities for $.15". Looks amazing.

My ads on Craigslist currently convert at about a 1/30 ratio from the ads. I'm just wondering if I would do well with this program? Does backpage have enough traffic? Any experiences at all would be helpful. Thanks guys.

Backpage is real nice, I use that almost exclusively and do very well. CL is jammed with too much to get decent feedback and revenue from it.

I have used it for some customer sites. Based on the traffic backpage wasn't worth the trouble.

I still think there is potential there though for certain niches and strategies. I am still dabbling a bit with it.

After running some more tests I've realized that backpage is completely worthless. I've posted 3 ads in the highest traffic areas on backpage, and between them they gather between 1 - 3 views per day. On craigslist I make about $1 for each 30 views my ads get.

Backpage has way less results than Craigslist.

    Hi!
Backpage vs Craigslist.....nice battle! If I could defend Backpage for a second though. Back page works if you know where to post in backpage. Some cities are new and people don't know about the site yet. I love back page for one simple reason. Print. Yes the prices to publish my ad in Print....are sooo cheap. So I have my ad running in 15 major newspapers across the country and it actually costs me the price of running one ad here in portland. I don't pay for crap like keep it on the first page because chances are no one really knows where the first page is. lol.... we as online marketers seem to forget that people still awake in the morning have a hot cup of coffee and read the newspaper. Check it out at least.....

Exactly why I like it better than CL, jodyq.

They can't flag your paid published ad.

Well Joydq I did test in their 3 most active cities. NYC, montgomery CA, and one other one. Very little traffic. Although that might just be the section I was posting in. It might work with other niches then what I am going for. I did notice they had options to run print ads, though I don't really think that would be effective with what I am doing.

Both have endless possibilities. Craigslist users though tend to be the lower form of the food chain.. please don't take offense if anyone here is a craigslist junkie and can be found in the CL forum bashing people. But it is true I also sell cars here just got my dealers license here approved and cl buyers are freeking idiots.

That must be new or maybe my ads were never considered spammy.

I have kind of morphed away from BP these days.
