Has anyone seen good results posting ads on Backpage.com?

I'm just curious if it's worth my time?

Beside craigslist Backpage is the only free classified site I have found which support a wide variety of HTML elements in description.
Backpage has significant popularity in the USA. It has only 3 Canadian cities.

I think people like using Backpage because they're not as strict as Craigslist about affiliate links.

There user friendly for sure. However, are people actually looking at these ads? We know what craigslist can do!

Not much response from there really; compared to craigslist. They use ads from oodle, that could be a reason?

It may be time to re-evaluate the question of whether BackPage is worth your time for posting ads. BackPage is aggressively expanding their operations and recently added another 13 cities to their listings, giving them over 300 cities and locations served for the United States and Canada. Their Alexa ranking is climbing very fast. As of 1/28/10 they are #239 in the United States and #1000 in Canada.

A Google pagerank (for BackPage.com) of #6 doesn't hurt either. I've noticed BackPage classified ads showing up often in the Google organic search results. This would be a great time to get your URL listed on their site. A one-way link from a PR 6 site can't hurt, especially if your link appears in an appropriate category on their site. They allow a free ad in most local categories and you can include a hyperlink. All you SEO folks will probably appreciate the opportunity this presents.

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of BackPage and I advertise heavily in a number of different categories. Craigslist hates affiliates and webmasters whereas BackPage loves us. It's an easy choice for me but it probably does depend on what you're promoting and whether you're appealing to a local audience or nationwide. Craigslist is hard to beat for a local audience. Some BackPage categories are busier than others. Do a little research and look me up if you have questions.

Backpage is still not as good as CL, but it is definitely worth paying attention to and using.

You can get away with a lot more on Backpage than you can on CL.

Never had much luck posting to Backpage. The traffic simply doesn't compare to that of CL.

backpage is a waste of time all I ever got was people pretending to be interested in my offer. I would email them back and then they would tell me about some membership website that I could meet a ton of others who might be interested in my offers it was a joke and a waste of time and money.

I think backpage is a good alternative to the #1 which is craigslist. I havent personally used backpage but I think they allow links in your classified ad as long as its relevant. Most probably you will place such ads in the "Services" section or category.
