Guys, Yesterday I placed a bid on snapnames on a domain. I was not so interested in that domain, so I decided to use cheaper service like Godaddy. SnapNames was telling me that the domain name will be released in June 9th 2006 (it was expired May 5th 2007). When I finished my order on Godaddy, I checked in MyAccount and I read that the same domain will expire on June 9th 2008. 2008 not 2007!!! the domain is expired and there is a notice on that site!?!? The domain for Network solutions! Any thoughts why I am seeing two totally different expiration dates on the two sites?
A couple of things could have happened. If the name is registered with Godaddy they send it to their expired auctions at http://tdnam.com . Yes they auction the name off before the name drops. Then they demand payment even though they don't own the name. Another thing that could have happened is the owner simply just renewed the name for 1 more year. You can check whois to see if it is still with the same person. Since it was only renewed for 1 year I would guess that the owner is looking to sell or make revenue of of ppc. IMO placing a backorder at Godaddy for a domain that is registered with them is pointless. I'm not sure how they even get away with charging the fee when they know that it will go to auction. Seems unethical to collect 2 fee's for something that you don't even own. my 2c
All networksolutions domains going to Snapnames only,it useless to backorder NW domains from anybody else but SN.Last week SN was bougth by Oversee.net,same company own DomainSponsor,so if parking revenue for your domain is worth anything they will keep it unless some one buy it for premium at SN auction.
1) I looked into the whois and the data is not updated! 2) Will SnapNames buy every expiring domain from Network solutions? Is this what you are saying? And this is why I can not catch that name?
