i paid for a domain backorder at godaddy in oct.09.the name i was looking at expired dec.31st.i did not get the domain, but the original owners did not renew it.how early is it wise to backorder a name before it expires?
It usually takes about 70-75 days for a domain to be available. As long as you backorder before the expiry date then you're good. I wouldn't use GoDaddy. Use Snapnames & Pool
You pay around 60US and You got to give your credit card information upfront but no charges won't be applied until they grab your domain. Same thing goes for Pool.
yea,but someone picked it up because there is a page similiar to a parking page, and whois says it expires next year now.im confused on why i did not get the domain
dont wait for expiry just place backorder. because they monitor and catch when they drop. the expiry always shows one year more because thats how it works. it depends on status pending delete is the one u should look
i ever tried backorder with godaddy..but that domain was grabbed by other registrar/owner.. i can't get back my money..just have opportunity to grab other domain.. unfortunately, i don't want other domain..bye bye my money
yes GD is making lot of money like that way. anyway just look some keywords and you can use that backorder credit
I read an article about this - those services simply "bid" to get the domain name, and you will be bidding along with everyone else in the world who has also opted in to that service. It's never guaranteed that you'll get the domain. There are people who do that stuff full time and pay for multiple services to increase their chances of getting the dropped domain, so you'd be competing with them if it's a worthy enough domain name.
i see!! i would never select that backorder option again.. i'm trying to contact godaddy, request that money for buying new domains..
