What are backlinks?Can any one explain in details pls.Are they similar to two way links?Does exchanging links with blogs or sites of similar niches help in getting traffic?

 

Well. simply stated, backlinks are sites that connect to your site since they find your site useful to them. This would help increase your PR. The more PR would simply mean higher ranking and getting more traffic into your site. However, the content of your site must always be fresh and new to attract traffic and get the right sites to actively connect with you. That's all. According to my concepts back link are three type
1.one way link a---->b
2.Two way link a---->b
b<----a
3.Three way link a---->b
b<----c
c---->a

 

In simplest form: Backlinks are those links pointing to your site coming from other sites

 

backlink is a link which is given to your web site from other sites

 

Backlinks are links pointing to your site, it can be a one way link from forums, blogs and social bookmarking or a reciprocal link from your link partners site.

When a ppl will click on >your site< in the site who contain that code, will "arrive" in your website. This is a function of a backlink. In simple words.

 

Another website or webmaster placing your website url in one of their webpage for giving alternative resource to his website visitors to visit other than his own webpages is generally known as backlink

 

backlinks are links from the other site to your site also called as inbound link...
no they are not similar to two way links... b'coz two way links also called as reciprocal links which mean they are going to swap their link with each other, exchanging link..yup exchanging links with blogs of similar niches help in getting traffic....

 

well i have been doing seo for quite sometime now and i have noticed that i still have below 100 links on my site and the traffic is still on an average of 50 per day i would like to know on how i can make my traffic and backlinks higher. could anyone help me.it would be much of help to me.thank you.

 

To be very crude, nowadays link building have become more difficult with more and more webmasters getting greedy and selling links, theory is good encashing what you have, but that is making it difficult for newbies,option left is keep trying for free valuable links and of course occassional valuable paid ones

 

Backlinks increase PR = true

but backlinks doesnot have any effect on search result (i think)

 

Its nice of you to specify "i think" ! Backlinks from high PR sites will increase your PR, and your SERP

 

Backlink can helps your site to get indexed by search engines.

 

Backlinks are one the factors that effects SERPs.

Backlinks are links directed to your site..It is important because some search engine especially google give more credits on site that have quality backlinks..

 

Backlinks enable you to keep track of other pages on the web that link to your posts. For instance, suppose Alice writes a blog entry that Bob finds interesting. Bob then goes to his own blog and writes a post of his own about it, linking back to Alice's original post. Now Alice's post will automatically show that jane has linked to it, and it will provide a short snippet of his text and a link to his post.

 

backlinks are the links on other sites that point to your site. They are quite an important factor for good traffic and ranking in Search Engines...
