    PR has no real use other than a rough guide, the only time i ever use PR is to assess the quality of incoming links

    I agree with you. I would never have a higher ranking had it not for the high PR backlinks I create for my site. Most of those are not even related to my niche. I guess a high PR still matters to the eyes of Google.
