Hi new to the site and sorry if this is a rehashed question but, What exactly is a backlink? And how do I create them? Apparently everywhere I read it says the more backlinks you have the higher your rankings will be...
you can create them by hand by begging other webmasters for a reciprocal, you can join a link network (and get banned by google pretty quick), you can market with articles, and you can use autoblogging as explained for free here autoblogging ebook free at http://www.bloggerhigh.com
Well think of Backlink as a vote of approval for your site.... Obviously the more votes you have the better are your chances of getting good traffic from Search Engines.... This also brings out another point... Its not enough to have high number of backlinks.. they should be coming from high authority sites.. If you have lots of backlinks from illegal sites then your site even though it might have high number of backlinks, it will rank poorly in Search engine rankings..... Yeah quality matters a lot... One way backlinks are a lot better than reciprocal backlinks..... How to increase backlinks.. Post articles to high authority sites like squidoo, hubpages, wikipages, ezinearticles, searchwarp and link back to your site.. You can also use Social bookmarking to increase number of links back to your site.. Finally Video can help you as well.. post videos related to your site or niche to youtube and other video sites and include a link to your site in description..... Hope this helps, Anup
A link from an external page is considered as one back link. The links have to be from relevant pages. Each link counts as a “vote†in the eyes of the search engines. Great tip to get started. Whatever your niche is, and regardless if you have a static site or a blog, type into google your niche or search term + blog i.e. "weight loss"+"blog" Visit the blogs and make a list in a notepad file. Then comment on atleast 10 blogs per day for 30 days. By the end of that 30 days not only will you have backlinks, but you will have traffic funneling from all over the place - and it will add up!
