Hey there. So I ran a backlink check on my website

    http://www.lookingformylife.com

but the problem is that I'm showing 0 links for my site on Google and MSN.

I just started the website on January 1, shouldn't something be showing up by now?

    Please help. I'm worried... :(:(

    Thank you.

What have you been doing in terms of promoting your site? i.e. Search engine submissions, forum posting, blog posting, etc

Yahoo will shows all the links which are you have on net as a backlink. but Google only consider the quality back links. so you need to work hard to get back links from google.

Google only shows some, it won't show them all. Don't know why it thinks it should hide some from everyone even you. Yahoo shows all, even nofollows. Best bet is to shoot for dofollow. Yahoo is fairly fast, msn/bing is kind of slow at finding them. Google is pretty fast, but not so fast at letting you know, and hides them. Best to use other tools online that will let you know of them. Even so, the online tools take some time to update and let you know. Could be a week or two, and could be a month to get stat that are old. Nothing seems to be real time reporting. All you can do is keep checking and compare the differences.

any recommendations on good and accurate tools? are there any tools that can estimate your current page rank, even if google hasn't released the update yet?

There needs to be one central location where you can get quality information, and get in all directories. SEO is way too divided and more complicated than it needs to be.

It takes sometimes a couple weeks for your backlinks to get indexed into the SERPS and actually start to work for you. Give it some time.

Is your site indexed with Google and MSN yet? If not get it index and then search engines should start finding you links. An easy way to index your site with Google is to sign up with Google Webmasters. It’s free and once you login you can submit your sitemap for your website to be indexed in a few days.

Also, search engines like Google will not show all the backlinks that go to your site so keep posting and submitting new ones and eventually they will start turning up.

Ohhh. Thanks! A few days ago I just happened to see the add sitemap section in google. I had no idea what it did, but i submitted it anyway! hehe

As for MSN, is there a similar way to get your site indexed?

MSN uses Bing search engine so have you submitted your site to Bing? If not here is the link to their submission page, http://www.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx. Once you have submitted though I am not sure how long it will take before it gets listed. I have heard a lot of good things about Bing so hopefully not too long. Good luck!

Google does not show all of your links and takes a while to update your profile in webmaster central. If you are seeing in yahoo, I wouldn't worry too much.
