Backlinks updating today?

    It is not one particular data center. It is a slight anomoly. I noticed that the majority of my sites have picked up one backlink in either direction. What I mean is, some sites have one (1) additional backlink, and some have lost one (1). It just looks like an indication that things are in the works.

    I don't see any BL changes BUT I have one site that does pretty well in google and today it's on fire. I'm getting hits from keywords that have page 1 placements... that it never had before. I see a bit if a shake up on page 1 for some ther keywords I follow as well... maybe something is up?

    I've seen that before in the past (where back links change by one), but it was never followed by a "real" back link update, so might be another false alarm.

    I've seen a nice update in my rankings for a tough keyword as of today...but I made a structural change also.

    Did you notice the October 4th date? Anything happen that day?

    What is missing in that table are all the erroneous "predictions" (aka "wild guesses" or "stabs in the dark"). Give it another week or so and you'll have three more to add to THAT list.
