My blog is about 2 weeks old and has 39 backlinks that came really quick. Since then I've been doing A LOT but it is still at 39. Did it just get updated before and hasn't been updated yet?

    Thanks

According to me, It depends on the importance of the site or forums.. Which contain the back links...

Seriously, its going to take a while. I am an SEOMOZ pro member and when I use the "OpenSite Explorer" tool on that site it only detects around 1,300 links for my domain/pages. When I log into Google Webmaster Tools, it detects around 9,000 links. How are you tracking links?

You know there is a difference between your site being www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com (no www) right? You need to set that at your host. Either through .htaccess file or some other setting (cpanel, plesk, etc...)

That can help you track your backlinks a little better. Also keep in mind, whichever setting you choose, you keep things uniform. For instance, if you choose to stick with the "www" then make sure your backlinks you are creating contain the "www" and vice-versa.

I never heard of that site to check backlinks. I tired out that tool, interesting that it is finding links from old sites that I know don't have my links on them. Must use Google cache or something...either way the info is kind of out of date. But that is normal. It takes a while for the "Internet" to update. I would find a tool that you know runs the tests on the 3 major search engines (google, yahoo, bing).

each time you build a backlink bookmark that backlink via a social bookmarking site.. Use something like ping.fm or Folkd.com . They get crawled quick.. your link would be indexed quick that way
