I have a product based website and on my home page all the categories are listed,my question is how to pick keywords for backlinks to home page bcoz here all categories are listed and have seprate pages of those categories,if we pick category pages keywords for backlinks at home page then I am in situation to promote same keywords for homepage and category as well but as far as i concern it is cannabilization that search engines dont like.plz guide me to get backlinksa at home page. one more thing one of my friend told me no need to give more importance on geeting backlinks for home page.Is he correct?
