Backlinks reducing on search console

    Recently I check on my backlinks on google search console and found that my backlinks are reducing in regular interval even though i m working on my backlinks in a regular basis, can anyone help me on this as i recently heard that google search console published a article on this as well but somehow i missed, need help in urgent

    It happens when the links are generated from spam URLs that get deleted automatically after a few weeks or months. because these URls don't have active website.
