backlinks reduce gradually for online shopping website

    May be some of the backlinks are not being counted and they are being discounted thats why you may see them as valueless backlinks not registering in google wmtools.

    I have an online shopping website named - http://www.ec23.com

    website's backlinks reduce gradually from last few times...we are doing quality submissions in Directories, Article, Press release, Bookmarkings and other SEO stuffs...

    than what is the reason to reduce the backlinks...Do anyone know the reason???

    Without knowing the types of links being placed it is hard to say. I have seen something similar when I had done a lot of blog commenting, my only thought was that a lot of the blogs have a "Most Recent Comments" section that appears on every page. Over time you fall off the most recent comments and lost those extra free links, while the 1 link you did earn remains.

    Google's webmaster tool is definitely not reliable to check backlinks. It's pretty clear that it only shows a small % of backlinks. Use Yahoo Site Explorer for a free, easy to use tool. None of the tools are perfect, but you can get an idea over time of whats happening.

    Over 95% of backlinks from directories,articles,social bookmarkings are not worth anything and google does not recognise them.
    Look for links from high PR sites which are related to your website.Even a few of these will greatly improve the ranking of your website.

    Fist of all, don't panic!

    You have 10 more backlinks, 9, 8, 7 ... :D

    How do you know that backlinks are reducing? Do you use Google Webmaster Tool (best backlink checker for you own site)? If you check backlinks by Yahoo, don't worry. Sometimes more sometimes less.
