Backlinks questions

I'm new to SEO, so bare with me,

I see people talking about getting 50 backlinks a day or whatever, but how do you do that? Do they register that fast? because I went around about 400 WP blogs, commented on the subject and put in my website, as a backlink. And i have 4 ( did this about 4 days ago) . ALSO I PUT A LINK IN MY SIGNATURE ON SEVERAL(10) .EDU FORUMS (ALSO DO FOLLOW)

And also are there any short-term ways to increase rank for a keyword besides:

• Keywords on site
• Put keywords in blogpost

Those are ones that I've done, Any others?

 

you can add your site to directories and links can take a while to be crawled by google's bots, sometimes up to 2 weeks I think

 

Also you could add you site to your signature here and that will give you around 30 more backlinks

In my own experiences, if you want prompt indexing of your backlinks, try to find backlinking sources with high PR(above 4) and put your links there. A pinging service like ping-o-matic after your posts would be helpful for this purpose, too.

I always prefer quality backlink over quantity. You can get much more quality backlink by leaving your link at well ranked article directory, forum, blog, social sites and other directory submission sites.

I don't count backlink, only try to get quality backlink..

And I'm using .EDU and .GOV for backlinks, and pinging now.

 

Oh also, another question, when i put my site on a forum that isn't no-follow, will it boost SERP on all the keywords on my site? Even though i didnt put a keyword on the forum?

Do social bookmark in High PR sites. Article directory submission can give more weight.
