backlinks on google

    if i try to search my backlinks on google i get a big fat zero, using "link:mysite"

    but, if i put in "mysite link:" i get 30 results

    i know its probably not the best method, but why would this be? i used iwebtool backlink checker earlier in the month and it said i had the 30 results i get from "mysite link:", but now says nothing

    im pretty sure im not banned from google and have 250 backlink results from MSN and 150 from Altavista so why would this be? (although i am aware that msn etal show everything rather than google only showing quality links) :confused:

    searching for "mysite link:" is just finding instances of "mysite" and not the links to your site. Google only shows a tiny proportion of your links.

    sure - but how about iwebtool giving me results earlier in the month now nothing?!

    You should better wait for the next backlinks update so as to view all your backlinks in G.
    till that update comes you can check out the links in Msn or yahoo , as they show nearly all the links :)
