Backlinks not coming through!

    Hey Guys,

Although I use a lot of different techniques to get backlinks, mostly I have been using http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=333498
these directories as the main source, but in the last say 3-6mths they have stopped begin processed, or so it seams.

    Has anyone else noticed this?
I am not getting any "your link has been approved/disproved" emails.

So I am thinking it could be one of these:

-These directories are shut, and don't process any more
-They are super busy and are taking longer to reply, (how long should I wait?)
-I may have not followed their rules properly, but I thought I would have gotten an email saying so?

I did a test on 2 new websites and it has been a month and no emails or backlinks have shown up.

I know for a fact that prior to 6mths ago that they worked and increase the sites rank.

Does anyone else have any theories?

Directories? Forget it. I took long times for you to get approved unless you pay for it.

Most free directories are junk and a waste of time.

The owner probably just park the site seeing that directories games are not as easy as expected, big traffic 'n no clicks

    Hi,

When we do directory submissions we don't usually get many emails from the webmaster of the directory informing us of whether our listing has been approved or rejected.

Are any backlinks showing up on Yahoo! site explorer yet?

When I submitted one of our sites to 50 directories recently they started showing up within a couple of weeks, though our site has been live for a couple of years - New domains probably take a lot longer to be accepted.

    Thanks guys,

Well the thing is they are quick, easy, free and it worked.

In the past it took maybe half a month and a few links would show up in Yahoo! site explorer yet, but to see them all it would take maybe 3mths.

Now it looks like none at all are coming through.

What do you think is happening?

And what would you recommend I do to get backlinks instead of these?

Google shows approximately 1% of all links and Yahoo 5%. If this is accurate you will never see all your backlinks.
