Backlinks listed as only 1 ???

I am new to the boards and trying to figure out the web design flaws that my site (www.waypointcorvallis.com) has. Backlink tracker shows that I have one link, however, I have a fair number of high quality links for my k12 education site including:

The Corvallis Public Schools Foundation, CorvallisPTA.org, The Corvallis Public Library, The City of Corvallis, Corvallis 509J District, nearly all 509J schools, Linn Benton Community College's LBVision, Oregon.com, Area Guides, Oregon Highways, Oregon Search Network, and Essential Listings. In all, I have about 40 links.

Corvallis is home to Oregon State University and has a population of about 55,000 people. Google has my site 1-2 for Corvallis 509j, top 5 for Wamoola (Washington Mutuals school fundraising program), and decent rankings for other keywords, however, I would like to know how I could be doing better.

Does the lack of backlinks hose me on rankings? Can I do anything about it?

Scott, you're cool ... about the Backlinks: Google no longer shows all the backlinks they validate, so don't worry about that and PR. More quality content would increase your rankings and so would more content related web sites linking to you.

You can also make your logo a link and use alt tags with keywords (but do it in a sentence if you can. Also add some alt tags to the buttons.

I see you as having:

• 40 links on AllTheWeb
• 37 links on AltaVista
• 1 link on Google
• 18 links on Inktomi/Hotbot
• 16 links on MSN
• 8 links on Teoma
• 39 links on Yahoo

 

same here... maybe google has more than one face...

you know more of the programs just use google.com for results...

 

Thanks, I was seeing only one on Digital Point's backlinks tool. I am glad to know that other utilities are showing 40.
