I have website wherein backlinks are increasing but Google SERP is down. Please tell me how it’s possible.
Quality backlinks matter: - backlinks from pages that have content that matches with your URL - vary your anchor texts - try to use your keywords in backlink anchor texts - try to vary positions of the backlinks (footer, header, sidebar, content) - try to get backlinks from higher PR and also from lower PR
Well, your backlinks are increasing right? Are these links of quality? From related websites? Or they from non-related websites? You have to remember, its not about the amount of backlinks that you have - its about the amount of quality backlinks that you have. Like, you can have 1,000 links from different websites - but if these sites suck, then how will the link benefit you?
I'd imagine you're just google dancing. Obviously quality backlinks are better than crappy backlinks but honestly I think any backlink is good. I've ranked plenty of sites with crap links. It's going to depend on your competition obviously, but just keep building links and you will see your ranking go up!
Good tips above, use a tool like www . opensiteexplorer . org to analyse your backlinks and see the variety of sources and quality of backlinks you have coming in. Then use the tool to analyse your top ranking competitors and see where your link portfolio is falling down next to them and this should give you an idea of where you need to be putting more work in.
