Backlinks how many is classed by Google as too fast

    Hi, I have 3 quick questions :)

    1. I have a very good position in the Serps, although moving a couple of positions would be good. I read here constantly get more back links, get more back links. Then people saying if you gain to many back links in a short period of time you could end up being penalised.

So my question is how many is classed as too many, for example if a site is around 6 months old is 1000 to many?

    2. I have also read people saying try to get more high quality back links, I know the obvious Dmoz etc, but are there certain others that people always submit too?

    3. Is it okay to use your main keyword as the anchor text in the majority of your back links, whilst changing the description?

    Thanks In Advance

If it looks natural you don't get penalized. I have noticed that when you create a webpage and you get some hundred links to that page (from many sources) in the first week you go down the SERPS but the second/third week you start gaining positions.

    well its very simple
If you are getting providing backlinks to your store say foreg 200 per day then this ration should be increased in this way.
    1st day 200
    2nd day 215
    3rd day 225
like this or you can keep it stable like 200 approxiately daily.
    Its natural link building.
But if you give 100 today and 200 tommorro then 50 day after tommorrow you will definitely get outrank after some period of time.
    So follow this method.

What are you basing this on? If it works then fine but have you got any evidence for this? 200 a day seems a large amount to me and I know people who have gotten themselves deindexed for this.

Hi, well 200 each day(or more) seems a lot to me also.

Also surely if it's natural it would vary from day to day i.e sometimes 100 sometimes 50.

I certainly don't want to get penalised

In our experience varying the frequency of backlinks does not impact on SERPS. Although I would assume gaining 500 backlinks in a day and then nothing for the next 6 months would be unnatural.
