Off topic, but your problem with permalinks is probably related to the fact that your site is hosted on an IIS Server - see here for more details. I had this problem and ended up switching my hosting to a Linux Server (it solved the problem immediately). If your site is about SEO it doesn't give a good impression when you have ugly page names.

Squidoo lenses can work quite well for long tail keywords, so I'm a fan of them to some extent. They can easily gain a top 10 ranking if the keyword is not too competitive. The best thing about them for me is that you can use them to experiment without worrying about any impact this has on your main site.

It's really worth. But depends on the way you utilize the time. If you use squidoo in the right way, it will really help you gain traffic and SE attention for sure.

Squidoo used to be more effective in my opinion. Due to allowing too many backlinks from sites making squidoo rather spammy and the fact that you won't get many visitors unless you get backlinks to your lenses which is fine although it is time consuming I think there are much better places and ways to spend your time. Truth is they are deleting all adult lenses and reducing the number of outgoing links at this time so perhaps in the future they will regain some of their stature but I need back links now, not tomorrow.

Squidoo is a valuable part of a portfolio of "free" websites that can maybe drive traffic but certainly help with backlinks. Google's blogspot, tumblr, wordpress, hubpages, etc. are also good places to start. If you are having trouble generating legitimate content for any/all, you should consider PLR material or hiring out a few articles.

Am not sure about adult sites, but it never deleted or blocked any of my links. I always tried to make the content not spammy too..

Yes, exactly you said it. All the web2.0 properties helps. But squidoo makes it professional too..

I think even if the content is pretty unique, we must do minimum marketing with SBM s to make the lens in right path... I was getting more than 30 uniques per day for some good lenses. But till could not score much revenue from ads.

A link is either followed or it is has a tag applied that makes it nofollow.

There is no such thing as dofollow

    Please stop spreading the fallacy.

This is also sent to MervikHamus as I see you are misleading others as well.

Hi friend, Most of the Squidoo lenses are having still dofollow links. Its not a fallacy :D check it yourself. But some of the sites gone no-follow too. Can't explain properly about that. But it's still worth.. Can 't misguide others :d

    Hi Mervik

What did we call links before the rel=nofollow tag?

    A link....

Also there is no tag such as rel=dofollow ;)

All "links" are followed unless there is the nofollow tag.

This creates confusion for clients. When people say dofollow there is nothing to prove to clients that its followed.

It becomes hard trying to explain something that doesn't exist to clients....:)

It seems some lens are nofollow tagged, and other lens with authors offering original content and seem to have trust, do not have the nofollow tag applied to their links.

See how easy that was to do????

    No need to use that word D_ F_ _ _ _ W

    :)
