Backlinks from Flash based site

    I know Google can read the text content of swf files, and it can 'see' hrefs (here). But does Google actually process the hrefs and count them as backlinks?

    When I did a G search for link:www.youtube.com there were 167,000 backlinks - BUT - but every site I checked had a real html link on the page, not just an embedded youtube clip.

    I need more proof! :D

    Anyone know a Google spider simulator that will pick up links embedded in Flash?
