    Are signatures from other forums considered as backlinks?

    not really, but your profile is, but signature definately get cached with pages so it helps in seo

    Yes, but depends if there are nofollow or robot protected pages. But majority of my links came from my signatures

    From what I can tell, the signature links in this forum are not nofollow.

    Anyone know how to find other forums which allow sigs and have no nofollow tags?

    I believe that Signatures in this forum is crawlable, but some links are in nofollow tags...

    Or you can try this firefox extension tool http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/ to classify the links...:)

    Yes, all links are considered backlinks unless they have a no follow tag attached.

    It depends on which forums you are talking about.. DP allows the sig links to be indexed. However , Sitepoint does not show users' sig links to the bots and general users..

    Yes, links in your sig can also be counted as backlinks. In fact most of the links that you can see in google webmaster tools are usually came from quality directories.
