i have read it many times that creating good and quality rich content can get a lot of backlinks! If this is true how? 1.Why will people link to me because of good content in my site? Why will they include me in thier blogroll? 2.Isnt it a one way outlink for them pointing to my site? 3.What is their gain by them linking to me without me linking back to them?? I just dont understand this theory. You can label me idiot....but please clarify this!
I could write a post on my blog about your awesome site and link to it. Sometimes, when I find a really useful and original website I just write a little something about it so more people know about that website. People is forums might provide a link to your website as well if it's relevant to the current discussion. If your website is crap, no one will talk about it.
If your content is good and people find it useful, of course they're going to link to it. For example, how did you find these forums? Chances are it was from another site, who's author found these forums useful and as a result, linked to them.
i'm confused by this post - have you never come across a website/article that interested you? did you not think "i'll send that to a friend"? this is how link building through good quality content occurs. It's difficult for me personally, as I run an e-commerce store. all i can do it blog about my products and i have to be professional. non-professional sites can generate tonnes of inbound links as the content can be literally about whatever the heck you want it to be.
i don't think you will have more PR juice to yourself if you limit the links that go out from your site. instead you can give PR juice (not out of your own) to other people, if the other people have the 3rd website, then you all can exchange three way links, that will best... sorry for rambling, hope my message can get through hehe
I like what you said that when you find a really useful and original website that you write something about that website. That would really help both websites. Maybe if you find my site useful and original you can write about it. x-overprofiles.com just an idea
Not everyone is thinking about SEO when they link. Some people just like to comment on some exciting news, or say 'I found this cool flash game today'. When people are blogging, they like to provide a source for some statements they make, to give their opinion a little more weight. If a site never links out, it's not really providing visitors with much other than the opinions of the writer, and people don't want to be preached at....
