    I think that google is penalizing every link that was bought for increasing the pagerank. But if a link is contextual and well placed, targeted, is ok.

    well, to be onest to you, i've never heard such things. It would be very strange to penalize for what, because your page is named backlinks.com...or something like that.

    i think nowadays they don't penalize those who buy/sell links either. maybe only those that buy links from websites that aren't related to their niche.
