Okay, now that my personal website is going smoothly with daily content updating. I am getting fair traffics, but not exact to my likings though. It's still low, but not too low traffics. And I have looked at stats and everything, see everything I like. Only problem is, the backlink. Backlink is pretty too low I have to say. But bare with me on this, as I am not big expert in this field. I used to link exchange a lot, especially with links exchanging service long time ago. But I am not too sure what backlinks is. Not meaning of it. I probably be asking too much of a favor, I apologize if it's too much of favor but I am asking you guys to assist me to get my backlinks going, guide me is all I need and also I want to go with the safe as possible to get backlinks, absolutely no blackhat or anything like that because at this point I cannot risk it. Because I don't want anything to be banned from Google or anything. Anyway, to get to the point. I am asking you to guide me to get more backlinks for my website. Now, should I use link exchange service again? The service that I register and massively requests for link exchange. Or should I go for manually asking link exchange with person? Like offering link exchange to people instead of using the service. But again, I am sure I am way off because like I mentioned, I have no idea what's meaning of backlinks. I don't even know how I got few of backlinks in fact. Now, onto my website information to give you a better idea of how to guide me to get more backlinks. My website is a blogging system with several posts daily and it is nearly four years old (created in '07). My website is about many of different categories/subjects. Such as I post my opinions on everything I have witnessed or tried, and as well some about myself. To be more specific, I post about myself, gossip, celebrity, events, news, entertainment, sports, business, reviews, media, websites and few more. JoshiesWorld one in my signature. And also if it helps, it's a PR3. Guide me to the land of backlinks! Greatly appreciated.
There are many ways to build links, with many levels of risk - from black hat to white hat. Black hat: - Mass forum / blog comment spamming (limited effectiveness) - Mass link buying (can be effective) - Gateway pages Dark grey hat: - Reciprocal links, link triangles, link exchanges (mostly ineffective) Grey hat: - Article submission (limited effectiveness) - Social bookmarking (limited effectiveness) - Expired domains (quite effective) Light grey hat: - Forum signatures (limited effectiveness) - Blog / forum comments (limited effectiveness) - Guest blogging (quite effective) - Unnatural social media (limited effectiveness) - Social media profiles (limited effectiveness) White hat: - Working with partners (quite effective) - Digital PR (very effective if done right) - Natural social media / viral linkbait (extremely effective if done right) The most important thing is to diversify whatever you choose - so don't just use one technique but many. And its vital to understand the risks - you can make a lot of money doing black hat for example, but it has to be on throwaway sites that won't matter if they get penalised. For a site that's your whole income you want to stay as close to white hat as you can. The problem with white hat is that it can take a lot of effort and really revolves around you being a real business, rather than an affiliate site or similar.
Yeah, I am just wanting to keep my website from getting banned by Adsense for ads, because I can't afford to be banned by them. That's most important I have to focus on. What do you mean working with partners? How would I work with partners for blogging website? Thanks a lot! Looks like I'll have to stay with white as possible and a little bit of light gray hat to stay at least safe. Which would you think I should go with that won't get me in too much of trouble with Google overall and its ranking, as well with Google adsense?
Do forum comments Blog comments make sure they are do follow. I agree stay from black hat or paid traffic it never converts I'm trying to get into the dating websites myself tough market but can be rewaring Good Luck
blog commenting, directories submission and forum post will work great for you, do it slowly over the time
You put up an really interesting post. Lots of thing that you name here under Dark Grey Hat, Grey Hat and Light Grey hat used to be listed under White Hat SEO. Has SEO changed so much within the last algorithm update from Google (Farmer/Panda)? It would be nice if you could explain a bit closer the only 3 White Hat techniques that you named. How in example do you partner with somebody other than exchanging links or banners which actually is Grey hat? I'm not a SEO specialist at all and appreciate any tips how I can improve our small online business.
A combination of article submissions + directory submissions + blog commenting and of course do follow links will be effective in your climb to the #1 page on google.
post unique content to articles, directories, social bookmarking sites, blog sites and do link building with relevant web pages.. actually unique or no copy work will affect your web pages value and ranking in SERps very fast...

Hope guys you can help me about my problem on how to do linkbuilding and social bookmarking. I am very interested to know that thing, it is just nobody help me or tell me on how to do it. if you have any procedures to help me with that thing, i am willing to do it.thanks
Hi, you can do link building through article submission, blog commenting and the another way for link building through link exchange from other sites. Social bookmarking is a very good way for generate traffic you can submit your sites link to bookmarking sites like reditt, digg, stumbleupon, delicious etc.
if its a wordpress blog, install the free wordpress plugin from bloggerhigh.com that builds one way backlinks every day.
Backlinks will not (according to Google) get you banned. The quality of backlinks may not be worth as much as before. Article sites that Google considers to be 'content farms' no longer will have much, if any, authority. Just stay within the Adsense guidelines and you will be fine.
Try a free automated link building system like VoltRank because its free and you have complete control over the backlinks you get. I've been using VoltRank for about a month now. I've set up several of my websites with different keywords on VoltRank and so far I've received over 300 links spread across those sites and keywords. There's some automated link building systems that try to charge you like $47 a month for their service but why bother with them when this one is free and it works.
Thank you all for the helps! Greatly appreciated. That actually works? Did that helps you to get good amount of backlinks from using that plugin? Thanks!
Be careful when you tread the path of anything that is "automatic or robotic" . While auto content addition / generation may be a great deal of leisure thing, but it may even make your content be tagged as 'copied'
sound advice. Make it unique every time. Although why you mention it on a thread about backlinks is beyond me.
