I have personally never used Blog posting as a back link building method. I I think link dropping on a website some has spent good hours trying to build is not really honest business. That and the chances are your time spent doing it will most likely be in vein when it gets deleted by admin. The most common free backlink building methods used apart from this are: Social bookmarking/Social networking Article Submission Forum posting Link Exchnage Web Directories (*cough RUBBISH cough*) Let's try to build a useful list for the DP members to referance by adding not so commin methods, the more input from DP members, the better for everyone. For Google to recognize your backlinks simply takes time. I've been indexed by Google within a matter of hours and other times it has taken a few months. Google will sometimes place your site in the sandbox to make sure that it is worth indexing. Like what already has been mentioned above, be patient and keep writing good quality articles.
